Tips for Holiday Gifting-image

Are you the type of person who enjoys giving gifts or gives gifts for the holidays? Giving gifts is a good way to express love to others and to show them you care, which is why we’ve decided to share with you some holiday gifting tips in this week’s Driscoll Place Blog. Make It Personal You’ve probably received a gift that you may not have liked, but have you ever wondered why that was? Chances are, the gift you received was not actually something that fit your personality. We all have our likes and dislikes, and part of giving a great gift is finding out what the recipient is actually going to like. Ask close friends and family of the person you’re buying a gift for to get a good idea of what to get, or, you could take the bold approach and ask the recipient directly.  Start Early Don’t wait for all of the good gifts to get snatched up. Start early for gift shopping. The earlier you go, the more selection you’re going to have in finding the perfect gift for your loved ones. Additionally, you may be able to find better deals the earlier you go. Avoid the stress of last-minute shopping and ensure that you’re getting gifts that people want by starting as early as possible.  Don’t Go Overboard  Though it may be tempting to give extravagant gifts, you’re going to want to know whether your recipient would appreciate it. Many people may be flattered and appreciative in getting an expensive gift, but there will be people who feel awkward and embarrassed about receiving something expensive. Understanding the types of gifts your recipient enjoys will help prevent you from going overboard. Remember: it’s the thought that counts, not the price tag.  Do you have any holiday gift tips? Post Thanksgiving Meal Tips-image

There is a lot of preparation that goes into the Thanksgiving meal, but the hardest part can be what happens after the meal is done. When your belly is full and you’re surrounded by your closest family and friends, it’s difficult to find things to do. In this week’s Driscoll Place Blog, we’ve got a few suggestions on things you can do after your heavy Thanksgiving Meal. Take a Nap When your belly is full, you may feel slothful and tired, so do yourself a favor and take a short nap! Don’t let this nap go longer than 15-20 minutes or you’ll end up lethargic for the rest of the day or ruin your regular sleep pattern. Break out the blankets and comfortable pillow and you’ll be asleep in no time! Play some Board Games If you’ve got family and friends over, you can spend some quality time with them by playing some board games. If you’ve got a few favorites, take them out and invite your guests to join you! Choose games that are easy to pick up and get everyone involved, the last thing you want is for someone to feel left out or incapable of learning how to play.  Chat One of the best things to do during the Thanksgiving holiday is to catch up with friends and family. Chat and reminisce about the good old days or talk about where you’re at currently. Friendships and relationships can be strengthened through heartfelt chats and conversation, so take the time and give your full attention to those you’re around. The best part? You don’t even need to leave the meal table, so no uncomfortable shifting of bodies!   Do you have any post Thanksgiving meal tips?
